After the official flea market was destroyed, vendors moved to the outskirts of the city where they have been selling their items since 2004. Their activities are perceived by the police as illegal and vendors have to pay bribes to the policemen to be left alone. Sometimes vendors' daily income is less than a dollar and they pay half of it to the policemen.
