Zhyvy Kutochok (The Living Corner)
2019-2021
In soviet schools and kindergartens children would care for the plants and animals in the so called “living corners”, a particular small and often dark spaces in classrooms where animals were kept in a frame of dogmatic pedagogical strategy. To teach children to love animals meant to teach them to see the whole nature as clearly hierarchically subordinate to humans.
This series is a part of the project A Cycle of Lectures on the Modern Lives of Animals.
