Before Execution

The exhibition Before the execution, dealing with forms of representation of political violence in the arts took place in Kiev’s Karas Gallery from the 10th to the 28th of October 2013. The show gathered watercolours and installation work by Nikita Kadan (Ukrainian artist born in 1982) from his series Controlled coincidences, a literary text written by Yevgueniya Bielorussets (Ukrainian artist and photographer born in 1982), the graphic and photographic documentation of Nikolay Grokh’s (Soviet and Ukrainian artist born in 1936) visit to Cambodia in 1984, as well as artworks inspired by the latter.
