Horst Bingel Prize for Literature 2022 awarded for the book "Anfang des Krieges"

On 12th of November 2022 Horst Bingel Preis for Literature was handed over to Yevgenia Belorusets, Ronya Othmann and Ali Abdollahi. The prize recognizes works in the "small form" (poetry, story, short prose, essay, reportage or blog) whose literary quality goes hand in hand with social commitment. Yevgenia Belorusets was awarded for the book Anfang des Krieges (Beginning of the war) where she combinates her two art forms (texts and photographs) as well as articulates the experience of a catastrophe of the war from a very personal point of view.

The Horst Bingel Prize commemorates its namesake Horst Bingel (1933-2008), whose literary work appeared in the genres of that "small form'. It is awarded every two years by the Horst Bingel Foundation for Literature and is supported by the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art and the Cultural Office of the City of Frankfurt am Main. The 2022 jury consists of Barbara Bingel, Karosh Taha, Björn Lauer, Hans Sarkowicz and Wolfgang Schopf.
