Referendum on withdrawal of the human race

Exhibition of HUDRADA. Opening, 10.12.14. You can see here my work "The eye and the sun"

The referendum – in theory, a process of legislation by popular vote and an instrument of direct democracy
– that took place in several regions of Ukraine in spring 2014 was ultimately used for the outright political manipulation of public opinion, and later served as a pretext for Russian military intervention and annexation of Ukrainian territory. The undeclared war that Russia has launched against Ukraine has brought about not only thousands of deaths, but also radical doubt amongst many people in Ukraine about preserving the very possibility of its former more-or-less stable existence.

The Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation is proud to present the second edition of Women Commentators. This year we invited female artists from Ukraine and Russia to Warsaw. At a moment when in many spheres of life a dialogue between Russia and Ukraine doesn?t seem possible, there is an urgency to build a platform for a dialogue between Ukrainian and Russian cultural activists and researchers and hear their testimonies of the war. Due to the historical background, Poland seems the proper environment for debate. By organizing this festival and inviting selected artists to Warsaw we are really keen to create another dimension for intellectual collaboration, which differs from boycotting.
